Sixth-grader Surabhi Iyer of Franklin, winner of the Comcast South Shore Spelling Bee held in Randolph in March, has advanced to the semifinals of the Scripps National Spelling Bee, which will air live from Washington at 10 a.m. Thursday on ESPN. She is a student at Ben Franklin Classical Charter School.
